How it works

Rule explanation

A card goes to its owner’s banish zone when instructed to banish it. If an action cost instructs you to rip a card in half, banish that card instead. Banished cards are visible to all players and are not in play.

Example

A character banished instead of killed does not create death or kill Reacts.

Common mistake

Banish is not another word for discard or destroy; effects that search the discard pile cannot select a banished card. This rules summary does not enable unsupported legacy cards in the War Room.
